Fishing Tips and Techniques
Sight fishing:
Observation of the fish and
the way they hit or react to
the bait is the most
important aspect to sight
fishing. This is the
learning phase. Watch the
fish and see how he or she
hit s the bait. How many
times did the fish pick it
up and you never felt a hit.
While doing this watch to
see where the fish goes
after it hits or looks at
your bait. You will find
that there is a sweet spot,
or area where the fish is
really protecting. Once you
find this concentrate on
that spot.
Reflex action:
This is the second
most important reason fish
strike, particularly why
bass strike, and it accounts
for 20 to 25 percent of the
bass I catch in a year's
time. A bass's reflex action
is like the behavior of any
predator. Kind of like a cat
pouncing on a mouse.
A lurking bass is seeking
concealment to hide or
camouflage his body from the
wary eyes of small baitfish
of some description. So the
bass is in the shadows of an
object, in this case an
ambush point.
Clark Tip
I love to fish docks and most
all of the biggest bass like to lay up under the shadiest and hardest to
reach places. My best advice would be to practice and develop
outstanding casting skills which will improve your chances of catching
these big fish
